Coral Ridge Isles is a small area with two separate neighborhoods whose waterways follow the canals that wind through Cypress Harbor in Pompano Beach even though this is a Fort Lauderdale address. It is on the south side of Pompano Beach. One area is in the popular Imperial Point neighborhood and has 3 canals and the other is a bit further west and has about 12 short canals. Both areas are surrounded by non-waterfront residential neighborhoods. Prices for waterfront homes are lower than the surrounding areas except for the far west Pompano neighborhood of Boulevard Isles.

This area is very suburban in feel with average sized single-family residential homes throughout and small apartment buildings at the end of all the east-west canals. Shopping and restaurants are a little more limited here but many are just 5 minutes away on Federal Highway.  The good schools attract many families to this area. The freeway is just around the corner making this an excellent commute neighborhood. The beach and the Pompano Golf Course are only 10 minutes away, downtown Fort Lauderdale or downtown Boca Raton are about 20 minutes away and the International Airport is 25.

Water-frontage is typically 70-80’ and you can subtract 5’ from your waterfront and that is how long your dock and boat(s) can be. Canals are smaller and range from 70-90’ wide. You can take up 1/3 of the canal including your dock and boat so this area gives you plenty of space for most powerboats. You have to pass under 3-4 fixed bridges to get out to the open sea from Coral Ridge Isles and the lowest one is about 7’ clearance. (Check this info before buying or renting!)  Depth varies so check the nautical charts for more accurate information on specific canals. This neighborhood is at the western end of this canal system so it can take as much as 60 minutes to reach the open water from here.
